I
have an MFA in Fibers and work part-time as a teaching artist
in the Memphis community. I collected modernist silver jewelry
for years, and was inspired to begin working with metal in 2007.
My mixed metal
jewelry is fabricated using traditional silversmithing techniques
such as sawing, piercing, etching, soldering, and forging. I use
gems sparingly in my work, preferring the emphasis of form
and space provided by different metals, textures, and patinas.
I work with sterling silver, shibuichi, copper, brass, nickel silver,
and gold. I use recycled metals whenever possible.
